Biography

Debbie Wasserman Schultz was born on September 27, 1966, in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. She earned her B.A. from the University of Florida. She served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1993 to 2000 and in the Florida Senate from 2000 to 2004. She was elected to Congress in 2004. She served as chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2011 to 2016.
