Biography
Everett W. Wess is a Birmingham attorney, civil rights advocate, and former Midfield municipal judge. Before entering law, he worked in technology and engineering on systems supporting NASA and the U.S. military and taught at Faulkner University. He earned degrees from Selma University and Alabama A&M University, including an MBA, and a J.D. from Birmingham School of Law; since 2001, he has led The Wess Law Firm, focusing on estate planning and criminal defense. Wess, who has also served as a city prosecutor and public defender, is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Alabama’s 2026 open-seat election.
