## Biography

Ken Paxton was born on December 23, 1962. He earned his B.A. from Baylor University and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2003 to 2013 and in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2015. He was elected Attorney General in 2014 and re-elected in 2018 and 2022. He was impeached by the Texas House in 2023 but acquitted by the Texas Senate. He defeated incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in a primary runoff on May 26, 2026.
