Laura Gillen was born in 1969 in Baldwin, New York. She earned her B.A. from Georgetown University and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. She served as Hempstead Town Supervisor from 2018 to 2020. She was elected to Congress in 2024, defeating Republican incumbent Anthony D'Esposito. She is seeking re-election in 2026.
