Rebecca Bennett is a Navy veteran and attorney who won the Democratic primary for New Jersey's 7th Congressional District on June 3, 2026. She built her campaign around her experience as a Navy veteran. She will face incumbent Republican Rep. Tom Kean in the November general election.

Rebecca Bennett supports restoring Medicaid cuts. She also supports protecting pre-existing conditions.

Working Families Tax Cuts (taxation)

Rebecca Bennett supports fully restoring the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction. She proposes capping childcare costs at 7% of income, funded by returning the top tax rate to pre-Trump levels. This action would restore income taxes on tips for 4 million tipped workers, restore income taxes on overtime for 80+ million hourly workers, and restore income taxes on Social Security for millions of retirees. It would also cut the Child Tax Credit from $2,200 back to $2,000 per child, reduce the standard deduction for 90% of taxpayers, eliminate the $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program, and reverse increased Medicare payments to rural providers.
